How We Choose Gifts

We choose gifts for fit, not for catalogue size. A recommendation needs a clear reason to suit a particular person, relationship or moment. If that reason is weak, the product does not become stronger just because it is popular.

Our six-part selection rule

  1. Recipient fit: Is there a believable reason this person would use, keep or appreciate it?
  2. Occasion fit: Does the gift feel appropriate for the moment, or is it too casual, intimate or formal?
  3. Message: What does the gift communicate — appreciation, closeness, celebration, comfort or simple usefulness?
  4. Practicality: Are size, material, customisation, delivery and care requirements clear?
  5. Value: Does the product justify its price for this gifting situation?
  6. Presentation: Can the item arrive and be given in a way that still feels like a gift?

Best for

Products with a clear recipient or use case, understandable details and a gifting angle we can explain without exaggeration.

We usually skip

Novelty for novelty’s sake, unclear materials, products with no obvious gifting context, copied supplier descriptions and items where delivery uncertainty would make them risky for a date-sensitive occasion.
